WordPress 3.8 “Parker” – The Most Visual Update Recently!
Do you have our WordPress autoupdater switched on? Have you logged to your WordPress admin since Saturday? If your answer is YES to both questions, you should have already noticed that things no longer look the same at the backend. Changes in the WordPress administration area that you see are part of the newest WordPress version 3.8 that was released on Thursday, December 12th and was automatically applied to our customers’ websites less than 48 hours later.
So what is new in 3.8 and how to benefit from it?
The new 3.8 WordPress version is visibly changing how things look and feel at the backend. The result is really better user experience, easier mobile navigation and more freedom for customization. The most important changes in my opinion are:
- The backend is awesomely responsive! Hurray!
- The color scheme of your backend is different (learn how to change WordPress admin color scheme)
- Dashboard sections are aligned differently (learn how to customize the WordPress dashboard)
- You can more easily edit your theme (learn how to customize your WordPress theme)
- On top of the back-end improvements the new version also includes a brand new theme – TwentyFourteen, that you can use for your front end
